Clueless Thief

Having just mugged a couple of young boys in a side street in Wisconsin, a man was on the run from the angry father of one of them. He dived into the boot of an unattended car to hide. On reflection, he realized he had not chosen the best place to hide, for not only had he overlooked the fact that the boot would lock automatically once he had pulled the door down on himself, he also had the bad luck to have chosen a car belonging to an undercover police officer, as evidenced by the spare uniform kept in there. He kept quiet for a while, scared of being caught, but at the end of the second day the policeman was alerted by the noise of sobs coming from the boot of his car. He opened it up to find one very bedraggled, thirsty and hungry mugger, and arrested him on the spot!
