Smelly Work

Two French criminals thought they were going the right way about robbing a mobile phone store when they put socks on their hands to avoid leaving fingerprints behind. Although their plan was essentially a sound one, their standards of hygiene could have been better. Instead of using a couple of clean pairs, the socks they chose to use for the job were so badly in need of a wash that police dogs were able to track them down within the hour, just from the smell!
