Jury Service

A man in a small town who was wanted for several minor misdemeanours, such as traffic violations and shoplifting, had successfully evaded arrest for several months. Every time the police came round to his house to arrest him, he would lock himself in and declare that he would shoot anyone who tried to enter. Deciding the man was not really worth the risk of bloodshed, every time this happened the police officers decided to leave him to it.

One day a letter asking him to present himself at the local court to do jury service was delivered to the man. He turned up at court on the stated date, whereupon he was recognized by a couple of police officers who were there in connection with another case, and finally arrested!
