Stopped By A Skunk

Policemen aren't the only ones who help to catch stupid criminals - sometimes Mother Nature lends a hand too. A man from Toronto was on the run from police after a serious assault on a fellow drinker in a local pub. His car ran out of petrol, forcing him to abandon it on the roadside and make a dash into the woods on foot. He was making good speed when he was brought up short by a skunk he tripped over as he plunged headlong through the undergrowth. The skunk blasted him full in the face with its scent, rendering the man temporarily dizzy and disorientated. The police were able to catch up with him, but had to hold their noses as they led him back to the car.
