Caught Short

A police car on patrol spotted a car lurching erratically over the road. Suspecting the driver was drunk, they pulled the car over. Their suspicions were reinforced when they found the man's speech was slurred and he had difficulty standing up. They asked him to take a breathalyser test but he refused, telling them that he was desperately in need of the bathroom, and that he feared that the strain of blowing into the breathalyser would cause him to have an accident! The patrol officers arrested him for refusing to co-operate.

This time, though, our stupid criminal had the last laugh, for the judge at his trial ruled that he had given a good enough reason to refuse a breathalyser test!
