Cigar Claim
A man in America, having bought a case of forty very expensive Cuban cigars
insured them, along with other valuable items in his possession, against theft,
damage and fire. A couple of months later, having smoked all of them, the man
filed an insurance claim for their loss in several instances of 'small fires'!
The insurance company, understandably, refused to pay up, and so the man took
them to court. The judge explained that while this was one of the most bizarre
cases he had judged,- the insurance company had not specified what kind of fire
the cigars were being insured against, and that they should therefore pay up.
The insurance company later got their revenge, however, when they prosecuted
the man for forty cases of arson!
