Stop Safe

Four criminals broke into a bank, intending to steal the contents of the safe in its vault. When they made their way into the vault, however, they found that they were not as skilled at safe-breaking as they had thought. After nearly an hour of attempting to get at the loot inside, they were forced to rethink their plan.

They decided the best option would be to take the safe away with them, so that they could break into it at their leisure, without the fear of being caught at any minute. The safe was securely attached to the floor, however, and even with the four of them pushing, they could not dislodge it. They then decided to run a chain from their van through the windows and offices of the bank, and attach it to the safe in order to pull it free of its anchorings. This plan worked, and with an almighty wrench, the safe was finally loose, although it caused immense destruction as it was dragged out onto the pavement.

The van sped off at high speed, with the safe still being pulled behind it, and the criminals resumed their debate as to how best to open it when they got to their hideout. They did not get that far, however, as when the driver stopped suddenly at a red light, the safe careered into the back of the van and managed to lodge itself under the bumper, lifting the rear of the vehicle off the ground. The criminals were stuck there until they were spotted by a passing patrol car a few minutes later.
