A man in Belgium, having being charged with robbing a jewellery store in Liege, came up with a novel defence. After giving several alibis, all of which were easily exposed by the police to be lies, he finally admitted that he couldn't have committed the crime they were accusing him of as he was breaking into a school at the time. The police then not only arrested him for breaking into the school, but also for the additional crime of wasting police time!
