I'll Sue!

After the robbery of a petrol station, in which the cashier was viciously beaten, the local paper ran a story detailing the crime, and describing the perpetrator as a 'particularly hardened and unpleasant individual, posing a serious threat to society'. The detectives investigating the robbery, who, up till that point, had few leads to assist them, were amazed when one of their uniformed colleagues was stopped in the street the next day by the robber. He showed the policewoman the article, complained indignantly about its depiction of him, and asked if she thought that he had grounds for suing for libel!
