Seeing Double

Two policemen pulled over a car to tell the driver that one of his rear lights was broken. They found a very drunk driver in charge of the vehicle and another, even drunker, man sitting on his lap, facing the wrong way. From their rambling and confused explanations, the officers eventually pieced together what had happened. Realizing that he was very drunk, the first man had asked his companion to swap places with him in the belief that he was less intoxicated. Not only was he wrong in this supposition -they were both very drunk - but they had not thought of stopping the car while they changed seats! They were both arrested.
