Drink-drive woman flags down unmarked police car
Friday, November 16, 2001
A New Zealand drink-driver stopped an unmarked police car because she was worried that officers may be in the area.
The officers who breath-tested and charged her said it would be funny if drink-driving wasn't so serious.
The woman stopped her car near Owaka on the country's South Island, the Stuff website reports.
She flagged down the car to ask its occupants whether the police "booze bus", part of the local force's anti-drink-driving campaign, had left the area.
Sergeant Kelvin Lloyd of Balclutha police said: "If drink-driving was not such a serious matter, this would have been very funny."
