Hostages rescued as suspect snoozes on settee
Tuesday, November 13, 2001
Orlando police say, they rescued four children being held hostage, after the suspect fell asleep on a settee.
They say, Christopher Huffman hijacked a truck before leading them on a high-speed chase and eventually hiding in the house.
Armed officers stormed the house, and he was arrested.
Householders Daniel and Angela Price say Huffman, 37, pushed them out of their home, forcing them to leave their children behind.
Police confirmed the hostages were two-year-old twin boys, a one-month-old girl and a 12-year-old girl.
Orange County Sheriff's office says Huffman has been charged with burglary, aggravated battery and false imprisonment, the Tampa Tribune reports.
