Pub regular goes to same pub almost every night for 51 years

A pub regular has spent over a hundred thousand pounds on pints of beer.

68-year-old David Roper has been drinking in his local pub in Dorset every night for 51 years.

He says he's drunk 74,000 pints at a cost of around £121,635.

Mr Roper always arrives at the 300-year-old pub at 8pm, and leaves at 9.40pm.

He missed his first ever night in the Three Horseshoes last year when he had flu.

"It takes me seven minutes to walk from my house and I come here seven nights a week 52 weeks a year," said Mr Roper.

The Sun says he now wants a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Spokeswoman Kate White said: "This is a remarkable achievement. But we would need some sort of evidence to back up his claim."
