Disabled man 'exposed himself on lawnmower'
Tuesday, September 11, 2001
A disabled man allegedly exposed himself to a neighbour and then tried to flee on his lawnmower.
New Jersey prosecutors say Carmin Ezzo, who suffers from spinal meningitis, pretended to be injured before flashing.
He's been charged with lewdness and trespassing. Prosecutors have also applied for an order to confiscate his lawnmower.
Assistant prosecutor Terry Bogorad said: "For years, he's been flashing his neighbours and luring people to his house. This time he took his show on the road."
Prosecutors say Ezzo, 45, of Passaic County, rode the mower to a local reservoir and exposed himself before shouting for help.
A woman living nearby phoned emergency services and a man went to help. Ezzo allegedly told him: "I don't want you, I want your wife."
When police and ambulance staff arrived Ezzo allegedly tried to flee the scene on his mower.
"I want to restrict his ability to commit criminal acts," Mr Bogorad said. "If the only way I can do that is to make sure he is confined to his house, I'll do that.
"By going after the lawnmower, I'm denying his ability to travel again - and the ability to find new victims."
